Concepts
There are three variants of disparity, positive, negative and neutral. A Transmission Character with more 1's than 0's is said to have positive running disparity. A Transmission Character with more 0's than 1's is said to have a negative running disparity. A Transmission Character with an equal number of 1's and 0's is said to have neutral disparity. The concept of "running" is because the analysis of disparity is within the bit stream.
