enumeration: 1) the process of developing a numbered list 2) the act of counting objects, where the count is abstracted from the object in question in a generic manner that does not rely on the propertied of any specific object or group of objects 3) a use of a mechanism allowing access to the elements of a collection in an orderly manner, even when the collection itself may be unordered.
